Mushroom & Peas Masala
Ingredients:
- 1 pack of mushroom
- 1 cup shelled peas
- ½ inch ginger and 4 garlic made into a paste
- 1 medium size onion finely chopped
- 2 medium size tomato chopped
- ½ cup cashews ground to paste
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- ¼ tsp fenugreek seeds
- 1 sprig of curry leaves
- 2 tbsp oil or butter.
- 1 cup of water
- salt as required
Method:
- First boil the peas & keep aside. Heat 1 tbsp oil or butter add the mustard seeds and let them crackle then add the cumin,fenugreek.
- Now add chopped onions & fry the onions till light brown,add the ginger-garlic paste or crushed ginger-garlic.Fry till the raw smell goes away.
- Now add all the dry powders coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder.Stir and then add chopped tomatoes fry this whole mixture till oil starts to leave the sides add the cashew paste along with curry leaves.
- Stir for 3 minutes let the curry come to a boil and now add the mushrooms and peas add salt, stir and let the mushroom peas masala simmer for 5 minutes garnished with some coriander leaves.
- Serve mushroom peas masala hot with plain rice or chapati,
