Onion Uttapam

Onion Uttapam

A popular south indian breakfast snack as they are healthy and easy to make.I usually make with the leftover idli or dosa batter.

Ingredients:
  • 4 cups dosa batter
  •  2 finely chopped onions
  • 1 or 2 green chili finely chopped
  • 1 to 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  • ghee or butter or oil, as required

Method:
First make dosa batteror you can also use leftover dosa batter.
Mix the chopped onions, green chili and coriander leaves together in a bowl.

Heat a non stick tava take 1 ladle of the batter and spread it in a circle on the tava only the quantity of batter should be thick top the uttapam with the onion, coriander and chili mixture add some ghee or butter on the sides and top of the uttapam.

Turn it when the base is cooked apply some ghee/butter on the cooked side the onion side is cooked now n flip when this side also gets cooked flip it again if you see the first side is not cooked or browned.

When they are crisp and cooked on both sides, then serve it hot with coconut chutney. Serve onion uttapam hot to.
